The incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Office’s communications strategy, operational plans, and stakeholders. Reporting to: Legal Director/Corporate Secretary. ## Duties and Responsibilities Communication Strategy: – Coordinates and supervises the development and implementation of the communications and public relations strategy consistent with the OAG mandate and corporate plans. – In coordination with the Deputy Auditor General of Administration, identify the actors of the Office. – Manage the development of the department’s annual plan and budget for effective communication in accordance with the Office’s strategy. Improvement of the Corporate Image of Office: – Articulate the mandate, vision, mission, and values ​​of the OAG to stakeholders. – Supervise the creation, maintenance, and monitoring of a solid corporate image using tools that include logo, colors, fonts, among others. – Oversee the development and dissemination of information, education, and communication (IEC) materials for all channels, including print, electronic, and social media. – Manage the establishment of processes to continually collect stakeholder feedback and implement actions to strengthen the corporate brand. Media Relations Management: – Oversee the development of interventions to promote, protect, and build the reputation of the OAG in the media. – Oversee the management of engagements between Office and the media to enable a cordial relationship. – Assess media perception of the OAG by conducting surveys, media comments, and reports and analyzing trends. – Act as spokesperson to the media with the specific approval of the Auditor General on any particular issue. – Monitor and measure effective campaigns and media coverage. – Develop and implement a crisis media strategy to manage crises within the organization. – Manage press conferences during reporting, dissemination of key audit findings to stakeholders, – Present messages that will be disseminated through different media channels and facilitate effective media coverage. Corporate Social Responsibility: – Monitor and report progress in the development and implementation of corporate social responsibility strategy and policy. – Manage OAG’s corporate social responsibility programs, corporate sponsorship, corporate advertising, and corporate events. Performance Management: – Provide supervisory leadership to the department and lead the implementation of performance management in the unit. Annual Work Plans, Budgeting, and Reporting: – Develop and review annual work plans and annual budgets for the department. ## Qualifications and Experience – Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, or equivalent. – Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage. – Five (5) years of experience in a public relations and communications role in an accredited organization. In her new position, Ms. Muganiwa will be responsible for developing and implementing the OAG’s public relations strategy, managing media relations, and enhancing the organization’s image and reputation. She will also oversee the day-to-day operations of the Public Relations Department in Harare. Ms. Muganiwa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Zimbabwe and has over 10 years of experience in public relations and media management. She has worked for various organizations, including the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services.
