Truthful Tuesday
By Dr. Raymond Chamba When you make a joke about government leadership, you can expect nothing less than laser-focused attention on the wheels that have fallen off. It is quite unfair or unreasonable to expect any informed citizen to have a modicum of traditional respect for high-ranking politicians who think of no one. We live in a political drug den, and by any means necessary, we refuse to be willing supporters of the antics of this crack house and economic latrine. Never in our post-independence history has a more indifferent, distant, and disdainful group of hardened criminals ascended to the highest levels of administrative responsibility. Here is a group that makes no effort to hide their bad behavior but instead gloats and shines challenging everyone to do something about it. The adults at the helm of national leadership must quickly put an end to this strange shit show of the once-great sovereign Republic before an irrepressible cataclysm occurs. The degree of waste and gluttony of the national cake will inform the fierce struggle to recover national sovereignty, pride, and dignity. Don’t waste legal resources on this. Pondai vanhu ava semauraire avaita nyika. Stargazers and political game theorists can be forgiven for thinking that national tragedies occur in alphabetical order. “Jah Jah, how long…maybe for a long time, but not forever…” goes the rhymed chorus of an old song. The time for decisive “concomitant action” is approaching… Martin Luther King Jr. famously wrote that “…the arc of the moral universe is a long intestine bending toward justice.” We pray and trust in political karmic punishment just in time for the serial looters among us who, for too long, have been proverbially urinating on us and shamelessly encouraging us to think it’s raining. The ardent traditional supporters of ZANU (PF), of which I am one, need to liberate the glorious revolution from the rapacious jaws of this deathless group of criminals rampaging through our midst. I am not the name of the revolution, the sacrifice of our heroes and heroines in case the impostors of the northern kingdom of recent times sound talkative and empty while they make mincemeat of what remains of the national treasure sold to fire. The great chimurenga musical master Thomas Mapfumo sang the famous song “…nyoka musango”, but this snake is in the house. We may have to raze the little grain house and prepare for the coming rains and harvests. The need for national salvation and renewal must knead the bleeding heart of every patriot. The time for fellating old political egos has passed. It is time to draw and sharpen the muskets for a real battle in the service of what remains of our national treasure, pride and dignity. Dzimbahwe ndiri mwana wenyu regai ndicheme nekupopota… Hama woye, tisakanganwa kuti ringaide sei ny
