Pamela Smart Accepts Responsibility for Her Husband’s Murder
In a stunning turn of events, Pamela Smart, the mastermind behind the 1990 murder of her husband, Gregg Smart, has accepted responsibility for her role in the crime. Smart, now 52 years old, made the admission in a recent interview with ABC News. She confessed that she had planned and encouraged her teenage lover, Billy Flynn, to kill her husband. “I was the one who put the wheels in motion,” said Smart. “I can’t blame anyone but myself.” Smart’s admission comes after decades of denial. She was convicted of first-degree murder in 1991 and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. According to Smart, she had become disillusioned with her marriage and believed that Gregg Smart was abusive. She began an affair with Flynn, who was then 15 years old. Together, they plotted to kill Gregg Smart. On May 1, 1990, Flynn and two other teenagers entered the couple’s home and shot Gregg Smart to death. Smart initially claimed that she had no knowledge of her husband’s murder, but evidence presented at trial contradicted her testimony. She was convicted based on witness accounts, phone records, and other circumstantial evidence. In the years since her conviction, Smart has maintained her innocence. However, in the interview, she admitted that she had been “delusional” at the time of the murder and had believed that she could manipulate events to her advantage. “I was so caught up in my own fantasy world that I didn’t think about the consequences,” she said. Smart’s acceptance of responsibility has shocked many who followed the case. It is unclear whether her confession will have any impact on her sentence, but legal experts say that it could potentially lead to a review of her case. The murder of Gregg Smart remains one of the most notorious crimes in New Hampshire history. Pamela Smart’s admission of responsibility has brought closure to some of the questions surrounding the case, but the tragedy of the young lives lost will never be forgotten...
The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has raised the alarm over the rise of bogus lawyers administering marriage oaths and conducting fraudulent property deals and other real estate transactions in the North Rift.
According to LSK, some of the culprits work in collusion with law firms that help them gain the trust of unsuspecting clients. Some of them also use falsified court documents.
LSK North Rift Chapter President Henry Kenei is now asking the public to be more vigilant when seeking legal services.
