The Epic EMC Rally: A Journey Through the Heart of Busoga The eagerly anticipated EMC Rally is set to embark on an exhilarating journey through the picturesque landscapes of Busoga, one of Uganda’s most vibrant regions. The rally, comprising a fleet of adrenaline-pumping rally cars, will traverse four districts of Busoga, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural beauty. The rally will kick off in the historic Nyumba Kyabazinga, the official palace of the Kyabazinga of Busoga, immersing participants in the heart of Busoga’s cultural legacy. From there, the cars will roar through the lush green hills and fertile plains of Iganga District, home to the legendary Itanda Falls. Next, the rally will navigate the winding roads of Mayuge District, passing by serene villages and expansive sugar plantations. Competitors will then conquer the undulating terrain of Kamuli District, where they will witness the majestic Nile River as it meanders through the countryside. Finally, the rally will culminate in Jinja District, the “Adventure Capital of Uganda,” where participants will experience the thrill of white-water rafting on the mighty River Nile. The rally’s grand finale will take place in the iconic Bujagali Falls, where the cars will put their speed and agility to the ultimate test. Dr. Moustapha Mukasa, Didas Matsiko, and Fred Busulwa round out the top five. The Eastern Motorsport Club President Kees Kagolo has confirmed that the club has partnered with Busoga Kingdom and has named this year’s event the EMC MoIL Kyabazinga Rally. The rally routes have been extended to Bugiri thanks to EMC’s sponsorship partnership with 2021 Bugiri Municipality parliamentary aspirant, John Francis Oketcho. Preparations will begin on Friday, July 9 with a corporate social responsibility day in three local primary schools. The crews will also go through the selection process at the C’Sand Hotel in Jinja. On Saturday morning, the crews will head to Bugiri for a tree planting activity. The first vehicle will leave from the same location at 8:30am for a 31km ride to Bugweri. After that section, the crews will return to Nakalama for the first time in two years for the Super Special Stage that will close the first day’s activities.
