Ministry Advocates for Audit and Accreditation of Mbare Siyaso Competencies The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science, and Technology Development has called for an independent audit and accreditation of competencies for Mbare Siyaso. This move aims to enhance the quality and credibility of vocational training programs offered by the institution. Mbare Siyaso is a renowned vocational training center in Zimbabwe, providing skills training to youths and adults in various trade areas. However, concerns have been raised regarding the standards of training and the recognition of qualifications obtained from the institution. The Ministry’s decision stems from a comprehensive review of vocational training institutions in the country, which identified the need for rigorous quality assurance mechanisms. An audit and accreditation process would assess the institution’s curriculum, training facilities, instructors’ qualifications, and assessment methods against established national and international standards. “The accreditation process will ensure that Mbare Siyaso meets the highest standards of vocational training, providing our students with the necessary skills and qualifications to succeed in the job market,” said Minister Amon Murwira. The audit will be conducted by an independent accreditation body recognized by the Ministry. Once accredited, Mbare Siyaso will be able to issue nationally recognized certificates that are accepted by employers and further education institutions. The move has been welcomed by industry representatives and training providers, who recognize the importance of ensuring the quality of vocational training. It is expected to boost confidence in the institution and provide graduates with greater opportunities for employment and career advancement. The accreditation process is scheduled to begin in the coming months, with the results expected to be announced by the end of the year. Mbare Siyaso has expressed its commitment to cooperating fully with the audit and is confident in meeting the required standards. The Ministry of Audit and Skills Development plans to audit, accredit, and establish a database for unregistered skilled operators in Harare, Zimbabwe’s Siyaso trading market. The Ministry of Audit and Skills Development plans to audit, accredit, and establish a database for unregistered skilled operators in Harare, Zimbabwe’s Siyaso trading market.
