Signs of Hope Trust Highlights Inclusive Development Needs at Bindura Expo The Signs of Hope Trust (SOHT), a leading advocate for disability rights in Zimbabwe, actively participated in the recently concluded Bindura Expo to raise awareness about the importance of inclusive development. The expo, themed “Unleashing the Economic Potential of Bindura,” provided a platform for SOHT to engage with stakeholders and showcase its work in promoting equal opportunities for persons with disabilities. During the event, SOHT highlighted the need for accessible infrastructure, education, employment, and healthcare for people with disabilities. The trust also distributed educational materials and engaged in interactive demonstrations to illustrate the challenges faced by persons with disabilities. “Inclusive development is essential for creating a society where everyone has an equal chance to participate and contribute,” said Kudzai Kanhutu, Executive Director of SOHT. “Persons with disabilities are often marginalized and excluded from society, but they have immense potential that can be unlocked with the right support.” SOHT emphasized the need for collaboration among government, businesses, and civil society organizations to create an inclusive environment for all. The trust called for the adoption of accessible building codes, the provision of assistive devices, and the implementation of policies that promote the rights of persons with disabilities. The Bindura Expo attracted a diverse audience, including government officials, business leaders, and members of the community. SOHT’s participation helped to raise awareness about the importance of disability inclusion and advocate for policy changes that will benefit persons with disabilities. “We were very happy to participate in the Bindura Expo and we believe that our presence made a positive impact,” said Kanhutu. “We will continue to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities and work towards creating a more inclusive society.”Signs of Hope Trust Advocates for Inclusive Development at Bindura Expo At the recently concluded Bindura Expo, Signs of Hope Trust (SOHT) emphasized the importance of inclusive development for the region’s progress.
