The centerpiece of the display is “Bloom,” a colossal, 40-foot-tall inflatable sculpture designed by renowned artist Studio INI. Composed of iridescent fabric and adorned with thousands of LED lights, “Bloom” pulsates with life, casting an ethereal glow upon the surrounding area. Visitors are invited to walk beneath its canopy and marvel at its ever-changing patterns. Adjacent to “Bloom” stands “Chromosphere,” a collection of 12 towering light columns. Each column emits a distinct color, creating a symphony of shimmering hues that dance across the square. Designed by local artist Anthony Gagliardi, “Chromosphere” evokes the Northern Lights, inviting visitors to experience the wonder of the natural world within an urban setting. Complementing these major installations are a series of smaller works scattered throughout the square. “Fireflies” by Ken Adachi consists of hundreds of flickering LED lights attached to wire, creating the illusion of a swarm of glowing insects. “Sonic Bloom” by Jared Brown allows visitors to interact with sound through an array of speakers and instruments, transforming the square into a musical playground. “Cleveland Aglow” is a testament to the city’s commitment to public art and its desire to create vibrant and engaging spaces for its residents and visitors alike. The display is free and open to the public from dusk until midnight, providing an enchanting experience that will ignite the imagination and inspire wonder in all who behold it. Mayor Frank G. Jackson remarked, “This public art display is a beacon of hope and joy for our city. It transforms our beloved Public Square into a magical realm, bringing together art, technology, and community in a truly unique and memorable way.” “Cleveland Aglow” is the latest in a series of public art initiatives by the city of Cleveland. These efforts aim to enhance the urban environment, promote local artists, and foster a sense of pride and ownership among residents. The display is expected to attract thousands of visitors and become a new destination for art lovers, tourists, and locals alike.
