According to police, the theft occurred on February 10, 2023, at the Panda Express located at 1020 E Kenosha St. An investigation by the Broken Arrow Police Department revealed that 23-year-old Sarah Johnson, who was working as a shift manager at the time, had taken the money. Surveillance footage from the restaurant allegedly showed Johnson opening the register and removing the cash. Police said they also found evidence that Johnson had attempted to conceal the theft by falsifying records. On February 15, 2023, Johnson was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail. She is facing a felony charge of embezzlement. Panda Express released a statement saying they were cooperating with the police investigation and that they have zero tolerance for theft or any other illegal activity. The investigation into the theft is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
