Kate Hudson isn’t just an award-winning one actress with famous parents; she is also a huge baseball fan. So it’s no surprise that she attended this year’s World Series to watch the New York Yankees play the LA Dodgers. However, she is also known for an iconic movie moment where she was distracting Matthew McConaughey of an important basketball game. So she found time during the World Series to distract her friend by hilariously recreating that iconic character How to lose a man in 10 days scene.
In a video posted to Hudson’s TikTok, she can be seen sitting next to a friend decked out in Dodgers gear. With the bases loaded, as the caption indicates, Hudson began an iconic recreation of the How to lose a man in 10 days scene by asking her friend to go get her a soda. After her friend responded with a resounding “no,” Hudson continued. Take a look:

For those who may not be familiar with the beautiful film from the 2000sHudson does a word-for-word reconstruction of a scene from the film in which her character Andi attends a Knicks game with her boyfriend Benjamin (Matthew McConaughey). In the final minutes of the match, she asks Benjamin for her soda, to which he reluctantly agrees. Unfortunately, it’s the wrong kind of soda, and she sends it back, causing him to miss the Knicks winning a big game at Madison Square Garden.
In recent years, the scene has gone viral, with both Hudson and McConaughey are open to a sequelit is appropriate that the Almost famous actress would now choose to parody it. Her friend may have been annoyed considering how intense Game 5 ultimately was, but fans thought it was hilarious. So they flooded her TikTok comments with responses that were almost as iconic as the clip itself:
- Do people understand how ICONIC THIS IS… @julia3amedition
- this movie taught me never to be a man’s peace. – @welldamn_hira
- the way I said “wow, that looks just like Kate Hudson” – @itsmollymc
- BENNY!!! It’s not a diet!!! please, I’m so thirsty!!! – @TacoQueenofthePNW
- “I’m dehydrated” me to my husband and asking him to refill my water bottle while he goes to bed – @heybeckbeckbeck
Frankly, these comments are iconic. I love all the references to the OG movie, and it shows that there is still a lot of love for this fantastic rom-com. Plus, it was also super fitting for the moment, which is probably why millions of fans saw and liked it. The only thing that would have made it better is if McConaughey had been there to play his central role in the scene, but her friend did a great job!
