CCTV+Appeal+After+Youths+Launch+Appalling+Attack+on+Lollipop+Man,+As+Boy,+13,+Arrested Police have released CCTV footage and launched an appeal for witnesses following a shocking attack on a lollipop man in London. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at around 8:30am on Mansfield Road, Leytonstone. The victim, a 69-year-old man, was standing at his usual pedestrian crossing point when he was approached by a group of youths. Without provocation, the youths began to verbally abuse and push the lollipop man. They then picked up a traffic cone and threw it at his head, causing the man to fall to the ground. The group then continued to kick and punch the victim, who was left with serious injuries. A 13-year-old boy was arrested nearby and is currently in police custody. However, officers are keen to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects. The lollipop man, who has been identified as Peter Rundle, was rushed to hospital where he is receiving treatment. He has sustained a fractured cheekbone and bruising to his face. Detective Constable Graham Painter of the Metropolitan Police’s North East Command Unit said: “This was a completely unprovoked and cowardly attack on an elderly man who was simply trying to help children cross the road safely.” “We are determined to find and bring those responsible to justice and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to contact us.” The CCTV footage, which has been released by the Met, shows the youths running away from the scene after the attack. Anyone with information is urged to call the Met’s Serious Crime Command on 020 8721 4266, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.Lancashire Police Issue CCTV Appeal After ‘Appalling’ Attack on Lollipop ManLancashire Police Issue CCTV Appeal After ‘Appalling’ Attack on Lollipop Man On June 12, at around 3:34 pm, a group of youths riding e-bikes launched an “appalling” attack on a lollipop man on Black Bull Lane in Fulwood, Lancashire.
