He also expressed Iran’s commitment to being an effective partner in both bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Mohajer stressed that Iran is keen on overcoming obstacles hindering agricultural cooperation among BRICS members. He expressed the hope that other member countries would support the development of new avenues for economic and trade partnerships. Representatives from BRICS nations (Brazil, China, India, South Africa, and South Africa) attended the meeting alongside Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Ethiopia. Discussions focused on promoting sustainable agriculture, establishing a BRICS grain exchange, and other relevant topics.Iran is ready to cooperate with BRICS members in the agricultural sector, Iranian Minister of Agriculture Jihad Javad Sadatinejad said on Friday. “Our country is ready to cooperate with the BRICS member states in different fields of agriculture, including livestock breeding, agricultural machinery, food security and exchange of expertise,” Sadatinejad said at a meeting with BRICS countries’ agricultural officials. He added that Iran has the potential to cooperate with BRICS members in the field of agricultural research, especially in arid and semi-arid regions. Sadatinejad also noted that Iran is interested in importing agricultural machinery and equipment from BRICS members. The BRICS countries are Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 17th meeting of the Council of Agriculture Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which is being held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
