Austin Police Identify Found Body as Missing Man Austin Police have identified the body found in the 3800 block of Convict Hill Road on August 17th, 2023, as 55-year-old James David Roy. Roy had been reported missing on June 28th, 2023, after last being seen near his residence on West William Cannon Drive. An autopsy has been conducted, but the results have not yet been released. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Roy’s disappearance and death as suspicious. “We’re working diligently to find out what happened to Mr. Roy and bring closure to his family,” said Lieutenant William Bratton, the lead investigator on the case. Roy’s body was discovered by a passerby who called 911. Police responded and found Roy deceased with apparent injuries. Anyone with information about Roy’s whereabouts or activities in the weeks leading up to his disappearance is urged to contact the Austin Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (512) 974-5365. Residents in the Convict Hill Road area are encouraged to report any suspicious activities they may have noticed during June and July of 2023. Stamm was last seen at his home in southwest Austin on June 11th. He was reported missing later that day. The cause of Stamm’s death is still under investigation, but the medical examiner has ruled out foul play. An active investigation is underway, but it is not being treated as a homicide. Stamm’s body was found at the Wildflower Center on September 5th. The investigation is ongoing.Austin Police have identified the body of a man found last week as missing 31-year-old Joshua Nolan. Nolan was last seen on June 27, leaving a store near Anderson Lane and Burnet Road. His body was discovered on July 1 in a wooded area near the 11700 block of Crystalbrook Drive, just a few miles from where he was last seen. Police say there were no visible signs of foul play. The cause of death is still under investigation, but police do not suspect foul play. Nolan’s family has been notified of the identification.
