Joe Stimson (Bench)Gold Coast Titans playmaker AJ Brimson is set to make his long-awaited return from injury in Round 19, with the young gun named in the extended squad to face the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday night. Brimson has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury in the Titans’ Round 10 clash with the Brisbane Broncos, but he has been cleared to return to full training this week. The 23-year-old’s return is a major boost for the Titans, who have struggled for consistency in his absence. Gold Coast have won just three of their last nine games and are currently sitting in 13th position on the NRL ladder. Brimson’s return will also provide some much-needed support for Titans halfback Tanah Boyd, who has been under pressure in recent weeks. The Titans have made a number of other changes to their squad for the Warriors clash, with prop Sam Lisone (ankle) and second-rower Beau Fermor (knee) both ruled out due to injury. Forward Isaac Liu has been dropped to the reserves, while Corey Thompson and Jayden Campbell have been recalled to the extended squad. The Warriors, meanwhile, have named an unchanged 21-man squad from the side that defeated the Wests Tigers last weekend. The match between the Titans and Warriors will be played at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday night, with kick-off scheduled for 7.30pm.
