Rassie Erasmus is set to make wholesale changes to his Springboks side for their clash with Wales in Cardiff on Saturday. With the Rugby World Cup fast approaching, the South African coach is keen to give some of his fringe players a chance to impress. As many as seven players could make their Test debuts for the Springboks against Wales, with the likes of Salmaan Moerat, Ntuthuko Mchunu and Evan Roos all in contention. Moerat is a highly-rated hooker who has been in impressive form for the Stormers in Super Rugby. Mchunu is a powerful loosehead prop who has also been in good form for the Bulls. Roos is a dynamic back-row forward who has been capped at Under-20 level for South Africa. He is a physical presence who can also score tries. Other players who could make their debuts for the Springboks against Wales include lock Ruan Nortje, flank Marco van Staden and scrum-half Grant Williams.
