The match was a low-key affair, with few clear-cut chances created by either side. Bafana Bafana had the better of the possession and territory in the first half, but they were unable to break down a resolute Eswatini defence. Eswatini had a couple of good chances to score on the counter-attack, but they were unable to find the back of the net. The second half was much of the same, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut chances. However, Eswatini had the best chance of the match in the 80th minute when a shot from substitute Sabelo Ndzinisa hit the crossbar. Overall, it was a disappointing performance from both sides, who will be hoping for better in their next matches.
