Congress Leader Urges Shah Rukh Khan to Visit Former ‘Mentor’ Amid Illness Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Shukla has appealed to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to visit his former mentor, director Yash Chopra, who is currently battling a critical illness at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. In an emotional letter addressed to Khan, Shukla expressed concern over Chopra’s condition and urged him to “make this gesture of love and compassion at this critical time.” “This seems like my final plea to you,” Shukla wrote. “I know that you have always considered Yash ji as your mentor and guide, and he has always been there for you throughout your journey. Now, when he needs you the most, I request you to please come and visit him.” Chopra, the legendary filmmaker known for his romantic blockbusters such as “Silsila,” “Lamhe,” and “Veer-Zaara,” has been a close associate and friend of Khan. Khan often credits Chopra with giving him his big break in Bollywood and has expressed immense gratitude for his guidance and support. Shukla pointed out that Khan’s visit could bring immense joy and comfort to Chopra during this difficult time. “Yash ji is a man of immense strength and resilience, but he needs all the love and support he can get right now,” he wrote. “I earnestly hope that you will consider my request and come to the aid of your mentor in his time of need,” Shukla concluded. Chopra, 80, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on October 13 after suffering a massive heart attack. His condition remains critical, and he is currently on ventilator support.
